Shop the off-the-shoulder trend

The newest silhouette of the season is off the shoulder. Ultra feminine and fresh for summer, the off-the-shoulder top is no longer a trend, it's a wardrobe essential. Pair yours with high-waisted trousers or a mid-length skirt. Or opt for an off-the-shoulder dress that will always afford you a flirty and summery look.

By showing off your neckline and shoulders, you’ll look super sexy, but ever classy as you leave enough to the imagination. So bare those shoulders, because this season it's all about shrugging off your sleeves and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t join...

Meet our latest brand crush: Ulla Johnson

Born and raised in Manhattan, Ulla Johnson started her signature line in 2000, just after her graduation from university. After immediately catching the attention of the fashion press and growing quickly in the US, she’s now slowly but surely finding her way into exclusive boutiques across the world. LUNE LAUTRE is happy and proud to be part of this select group of retailers selling Ulla Johnson in Europe.

Ulla Johnson is the rare contemporary designer whose clothes tell a vivid story but also resonate with real-life customers. All her collections are based on a foundation of natural fibers, beautiful finishing, and ease of fit and form. She describes her style as a “tapestry of cultures”, meaning there’s everything from Peruvian ikat prints to Indian embroidery and touches of Western fringe, but always elevated for city-dwelling women like Johnson herself.

Happy times in a small get-together with our FAVE girls & family

Thursday night, we organised a small pré-opening night with our family and BFF’s. These are the people that followed our process every step of the way… As of the moment we shared our new plans for the future with them (almost 2 years ago!) until the final days before the opening, when we were painting, cleaning and styling the shop. They continuously gave us their love and support troughout these exciting times in our lives. Therefore we wanted to spoil them with an exclusive preview of our very own fashion paradise. As we are both total cheese addicts, the menu for the night was pretty obvious… SUPER thrilled to have our very first guests at LUNE LAUTRE!

We LOVE Belgian designers!

Of course we all know the “Antwerp Six” as Belgium’s most famous fashion designers. But if you think there’s a lack of new rising talent in our small country… Guess again! Two Belgian designers that definitely impressed us from the moment we met them, and therefore had to be part of our brand mix, are “Morobé” and “Claska”.

Morobé shoes was founded by Ghent’s style icon Virginie Morobé in 2015. Before starting of with her own shoe label Virginie gained many years of experience in footwear design. In her collection, she combines bohemian and rock ’n roll influences, giving her designs a street style vibe. The pieces in Morobé’s fashion forward collection range from elegant heels and daring sneakers to powerful boots. Produced in Portugal, Virginie makes sure that both fitting and quality of every pair of shoes are top-end.

The lovely Magali Moorkens, born inKorea and raised in Antwerp, travelled all over the world. This international background inspired her when designing her own knitwear collection “Claska”. As a busy mom of two adorable little boys, she started creating her first cardigans right from her own livingroom. (PS : we’ve been there, it’s drop-dead gorgeous!) Nowadays, her collection consists of knitted dresses, sweaters and cardigans. Claska is all about details, luxury, and lasting quality. Feminine yet cuddly, you’ll want to wear these knits all day long!

We’ve added some pictures of their campain in our blog post, but we would LOVE for YOU to come and check out their collections in our shop!!

Counting down the days…

It’s almost time! After a lot of hard work (and to be very honest: some sleepless nights) we are ready to open our very own shop LUNE LAUTRE. It has been quite a journey, and therefore we would love to share some memories with you

Summer 2014… We just made one of the most important decisions in our life: opening our own women’s multibrand shop in the center of Edegem! These pictures show the three original buildings before they were demolished to make room for the new one!

Once the decison was made we could start the interior planning! Where do we allocate the fitting rooms? How to design the perfect shop counter? Thanks God Julie has a degree in interior design, so we were able to make all our plans and 3D simulations ourselves.

Evolution of the structural works and raw construction!

Meanwhile we could start with the best part of the job: buying our first SS16 collections! Beginning of October we took the Thalys with direction Paris, where “den Toine” from Bluepoint store in Brasschaat showed us around at Paris Fashion Week!

Construction progress! Window:s check. Floor isolation and screed: check. Now dry dry dry, so we can start building up our store!

And so it was time for yet another favourite part of the job: decorating! Choosing the right fabric for our fitting room curtains, the perfect sofa, carpet and side tables for our seating area.. All with the help of Objet Trouvé in Kortrijk and Knokke, our favorite interior address!

Time for a final holiday! Britt skiing with a group of friends. Julie and her boyfriend discovering NY, just like they did 8 years ago on their first vacation together!

Final touches… So excited to see the counter in real life, we jumped into the truck :). As it were extremely busy weeks to make our opening deadline, moms, dads, boyfriends, sisters and brothers came to the rescue!

Starting to look like a real shop now… Fixing final details, cleaning, healthy yard lunch in between., and last but not least: clothing racks delivery! Only the clothes are missing! Curious to see our beautiful collections hanging in the shop? We LOVE to have YOU around, so come on and pay us a visit!
